As part of Birmingham's application to be the UK's first ever City of Culture – we want to hear from everyone who lives, works or has a connection to the city. Please share your thoughts and ideas with us – it's as easy as 1,2,3,4! more

By cultural life we mean the things you do in your spare time. This can be something you make, something you go to see, or something you do. It can mean anything from cooking for your family, skateboarding in a park, going to a concert. Culture means different things to different people.

Birmingham Cathedral Choir and music programme contributes significantly to the culture of the city. The choir keeps alive the English Choral Tradition. Evensong is sung most Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays at 5.45pm in term time, most Sundays at 3.30pm and occasional Saturdays.
The choir comprises boys and girls from a variety of schools across the city, choral scholars mainly from the conservatoire and male adult lay clerks.
The Cathedral puts on regular concerts at 1.10pm Fridays, occasional Friday evenings and at other times.
The Cathedral Chorus is a “come and sing” event, usually twice a year, which attracts almost 100 amateur singers and an audience.
